Sports & leisure: for young and old

Cycling

Our villa is a unique location to spend your cycling holiday in the South.

Starting from Chavon, you can warm up by cycling to Sault first. Once in Sault, the Mont Ventoux can be climbed from there. If you prefer to keep it a bit flatter, this is also possible. For various cycling routes, you can visit the website of Provence Guide: www.provenceguide.co.uk.

You can rent bikes in Sault at Albion Cycles: right next to the Intermarché (Route de Saint Trinit). www.albioncycles.com/en

The Mont Ventoux

This is for the trained sportsmen. The mountain is located in the department of Vaucluse, about twenty kilometres (12,4 miles) northeast of Carpentras. This peak in the Massif des Cèdres is the only one of this height (almost 2.000 metres – 1,2 miles) in the Provence and is also called the Giant of the Provence. The mountain is known because its ascent has repeatedly been included in some famous cycling competitions, such as the Tour de France, due to its difficulty and the bare “moon landscape”.
